Which devices does Messenger Pigeon work best on?

Messenger Pigeon is available on both mobile and desktop devices, windows and mac and can be also be downloaded for mobile from Google Play and the App store.

For the best experience at this time we don't recommend using Messenger Pigeon on a tablet or ipad as the proportions have been designed for mobile.

Is Messenger Pigeon similar to Note Taking Express?

Although Messenger Pigeon has additional features, the steps to receive professional notes in Messenger Pigeon are very similar to Note Taking Express. All the steps can be completed in app:

1. Simply record or upload a recording of your lecture

2. Save the recording

3. Send to our note takers

4. You will then receive a notification by email when your notes are complete.

The quality of the notes will also be the same, and in some cases better due to the enhanced audio detection and on screen audio visualizer mitigating the risk of low quality recordings.

Take a look at at our how to video for more details on requesting professional notes.

How can I set up my phone and laptop for better audio pick up?

When using Messenger Pigeon to record your lectures on a laptop or mobile device. We recommend several things to ensure greater accuracy for your transcripts and notes:

1. Try to sit close to the main speaker, this will usually be your lecturer.
2. Enable Do not Disturb on your phone, Messenger Pigeon will stop recording if a call is received.
3. Leave your phone out on the desk while recording. Do not put it back into your pocket or bag.
4. You can also turn your phone upside-side down. This will point the microphone towards the speaker.
5. When recording on a laptop, it's essential to ensure that you avoid creating unnecessary noise in front of your laptop, as the built-in microphone is located there. It's preferable to use an external directional microphone for optimal results.

Do I need to be connected to Wifi when using Messenger Pigeon?

The Messenger Pigeon mobile app doesn't require an immediate Wi-Fi connection for lecture recording; it uploads the recording when the phone reconnects to Wi-Fi and the app is opened. While the live transcript feature doesn't function offline, once the recording syncs with the cloud, you can review the transcript and utilize the ai study assistant tool.

Will I still be able to access my Note Taking Express account?

Yes students who has previously used note taking express will be able to access the platform to retrieve past notes. However you will not be able to record and request notes.
