We do not sell user data or use academic content for advertising or commercial purposes.

Messenger Pigeon is designed to respect the rights of instructors and institutions.

• Lecture recordings and instructional materials remain the property of the institution and/or instructor.
• Habitat Learn processes this content only to deliver the functionality of the platform.
• Content is not used for model training, analytics resale, or advertising.

To further protect instructional materials:

• Students cannot download lecture recordings created in Messenger Pigeon.
• Recordings can only be streamed within the application for personal academic review.

This approach helps protect intellectual property and prevents unauthorized distribution of course content.

Messenger Pigeon includes AI-powered features such as:

• Lecture transcription
• Abstract summaries
• Study assistance tools

These tools are designed specifically for educational workflows, not general-purpose AI usage.

All AI services used by Messenger Pigeon operate under zero data retention policies. This means:

• User content is processed in real time
• The data is not stored by the AI provider
• Content is never used to train AI models

Institutional and student data never becomes part of any model training pipeline.

AI services used within Messenger Pigeon are also designed to support regulatory requirements such as HIPAA compliance.

Messenger Pigeon offers both AI-powered tools and human-delivered accessibility services.

When institutions use services such as professional note-taking or captioning, those services are performed by trained staff rather than AI systems.

To maintain security and integrity:

• Note takers receive temporary access to the lecture through their Messenger Pigeon account.
• Access is automatically removed once the notes have been submitted.

Habitat Learn maintains a quality assurance process that monitors for unauthorized AI usage in human-delivered services. If a violation occurs, corrective action is taken and notes may be re-delivered at no cost.
